Missionaries are men and women who have been set apart by churches to serve by teaching people the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ.  All missionaries must be sure in their hearts that God wants them to serve in this way.  Their church must be sure too.

Missionaries have to use all of their mental and physical resources to do their work.  Often their work is done far away from friends and family and so it can be tiring and lonely.  Good missionaries have always  had a great love and respect for the people they work amongst.
